Despite being vocal about his choice to fight either Paul Felder or Matt Brown at UFC 300, Jim Miller has received a different name for his next match. As announced by CEO Dana White this Tuesday, the veteran fighter will instead face Bobby Green in the historic event in April.

During the initial announcement of the event, White didn’t share the bouts in the lineup but promised that Jim Miller would be present. Thankfully, “A-10” secured the spot after defeating Gabriel Benitez at the UFC Fight Night 234 event via a remarkable submission win last weekend. After this, the fighter named Felder, who has been in retirement since 2020, as his possible opponent. Later, Miller also included Brown in his options. Brown’s revelation about his talks with the promotion to join the event further fueled beliefs that he might face Miller. However, White snapped the speculations, saying that Miller would instead get Green in his next match.

Green will be coming from a recent loss to Jalin Turner at UFC on ESPN 52. “King” originally was scheduled to face Dan Hooker, but “The Hangman” withdrew due to an injury. The UFC then announced Turner as Green’s new opponent. However, despite being a short-notice replacement, the young fighter made an incredible performance in the cage, managing to deliver a knockout that was made more impactful by a late stoppage. In the end, Green passed out on the ground.

In spite of this, the fighter remains a valuable name for the promotion, which is seemingly giving him the chance to redeem himself in a huge event. However, Miller will be a tough fight despite his age, 40. Considered a submission master, Miller now boasts 20 submissions in his record in addition to his seven KO wins. As a UFC veteran since 2008, the fighter has also faced huge names in the UFC roster before, preparing for a fight like this. Some include Charles Oliveira, Nate Diaz, Beneil Dariush, Dustin Poirier, and Anthony Pettis.
